Mouth Cancer
It is thought that early diagnosis of mouth cancer can transform survival rates from 50% to 90%. At every check up appointment your mouth will be routinely checked for any abnormalities and if any problem areas are detected this will be discussed with you.
HPV Vaccine
Girls are routinely vaccinated at the age of 12 against the Human Papillomavirus which can cause cervical cancer. This virus can also cause anal cancer, genital warts and oral and throat cancer. There has been calls in the dental press recently for all boys to also be vaccinated. The BDA are asking for members of the public to write to their MP in support of boys being vaccinated.
